4. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

Irritating to eyes and skin.

May cause sensitization skin.

Toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.

5. FIRST-AID MEASURES

Never give fluids or induce vomiting if patient is unconscious or is having convulsions.

INHALATION:

Move patient to fresh air. If breathing has stopped or is labored give assisted respiration.

SKIN CONTAMINATON

Remove product and immediately flush affected area with water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes

EYE CONTAMINATION

Hold eyelids apart and immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical advice.

INGESTION

If swallowed, call a physician immediately. Remove stomach contents by gastric suction or induce vomiting only as directed by medical personnel.

6. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

Ignition will give rise to a class B fire. In case large fire use: water spray, alcohol foam. In case of small fire use: carbon dioxide (CO2) , dry sand or limestone.

HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION PRODUCTS

Under fire conditions polymers decompose. The smoke may contain polymer fragments of varying compositions in addition to unidentified toxic and / or irritating compounds.

FIRE FIGHTING INSTRUCTONS

Keep people away. Isolate fire area and deny unnecessary entry. Do not use direct water stream . May spread fire . Use water spray to cool fire exposed containers and fire affected zone until fire is out and danger of re-ignition has passed . Move container from protected location or safe distance . Consider use of unmanned hose holder or monitor nozzles . Immediately withdraw all personnel from area in case of rising sound from venting safety device or discoloration of the container .

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIRE FIGHTERS

Wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus ( SCBA) and protective fire fighting clothing ( includes fire fighting helmet, coat, pants, boots and gloves) . Avoid contact with this material during fire fighting operations . If contact is likely , change to full chemical resistant clothing with SCBA . This will not provide sufficient fire protection . Consider fighting fire from a remote location.

7. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

CLEANUP

Absorb with material such as sand , or polypropylene or polyethylene fiber products .

8. HANDLING AND STORAGE

HANDLING

Avoid use of electric band heaters . Failures of electric band heaters have been reported to cause drums of liquid epoxy resin to explode and catch fire . Application of a direct flam to a container of liquid epoxy can also cause explosion and/ or fire.

STORAGE

Recommended pumping and storage temperature is 60c .

9. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

ENGINEERING CONTROLS

Good general ventilation should be sufficient for most conditions .

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Eye / face protection: Use safety glasses.

Skin protection: Use protective clothing impervious to this material.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY

CHEMICAL STABILITY

Stable under recommended storage condition. Avoid contact with oxidizing materials , acids and bases .

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

See Section 3 for Potential Health Effects .

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

MOVEMENT & PARTITIONING

Bioconcentration potential is moderate ( BCF between 100 and 3000 or Log Pow between 3 and 5).

ECOTOXICOLOGY

Material is moderately toxic to aquatic organisms on an acute basis ( LC 50 / EC 50 between 1 and 10 mg/L in most sensitive species ) .

13. DISPOSEL CONSIDERATIONS

DISPOSEAL

Do not dump into any sewers , on the ground or into any body of water .

14. TRANSPORT INFORMATION

TRANSPORT

In close original containers .
